Bible Teaching Recourses

One of the questions I have received the most on my social medias over the years is – “What tools or books do you use to teach little ones the Bible?” So… after ages I am finally putting this post together for you all.

This Bible Story book contains 60 simple Bible Stories. We are going through this set for the second time in past few years at the kids request. I normally use the stories as a guide and just tell them – But I love that after each Bible story there is 3 questions to ask, a short verse to memorize and a picture to color in the corresponding coloring book. These are also a really cheap option. Here is the link to one website I found selling them. (And, should you need Spanish shoot me a message as these are both available in Spanish.) I find these great for kids 2-8years.

These Bible Story picture cards on the right were given to us for the ministry and have been such a blessing. These are preschool Bible story flash cards from Abeka but I have found the pictures engaging in our home and in our Bible Clubs for children 2-11. The stories on the back side are more for preschool age but I just use it for a guide and go into more depth depending the age range and Bible knowledge of the children I am teaching. These are pricy and out of stock. But, they can be found on eBay or Abeka has other new ones available now.

Here is a website that has signs for many songs we have enjoyed using through the years in ministry and at home. Kids love song signs and taking turns holding them. Most of the time we find the songs we want to use and then make our own song signs.

This book is a old but timeless book. They are lessons to be taught to your own children on Sunday afternoons – to keep children’s minds busy on a Sunday. But I have used these stories for Bible Clubs too. Here is link where you can get these used. I can’t believe I found them used online. Such a treasure this book is. Best for ages 5-12 or so.

Last but NOT least is this website I want to share with you. They have activities for every Bible Story – literally. These are made to go with your own lesson – be it a lesson you wrote or read from the Bible. For each Bible Story they have – a picture to color, questions to answer, a crossword puzzle, a find a word puzzle and a memory verse. You can use it all or choose the pages that would work best for your kids age/amount of time you want to put into the lesson. And, these recourses are all KJV and free!

I have a few more favorites but sadly they are either from the 70s and 80s and I can’t even find used copies online or they are only in Spanish. I hope you found something helpful above.

Also, Remember that these are tools. No matter what program or book you use for teaching the Bible to Children there is a never one size fits all for children or the teacher. So use what you feel led to use and leave out what isn’t useful for you.

It is all about getting the Word of God into little lives and leading them to Jesus! That path is different for every little person – and every teacher or parent!

Backpacks – 2021

The Lord raised money for more backpacks then any year previous. I know I never posted here, on my blog, but many of you reached out & asked if we were giving away backpacks again this year. It blessed my heart to see your love for this ministry & it was an even bigger blessing to see God answer prayer.

2020 was a hard year everywhere and Honduras was no exception. More then ever these families needed the encouragement to continue on with their children’s education. I was praying the Lord would supply the backpacks because I knew many of you couldn’t give easily right now. God answered.

The Lord also blessed with better prices for backpacks then ever. The family selling them was excited to get to help these children by dropping the price. And, then the school supply store that always gives me amazing prices did so again and because of these people helping their own people in this way we were able to give better quality school supplies then we did in previous years.

100 children received new backpacks. Backpacks full of school supplies & the gospel. Our God is so good.

I want to thank each of you who gave and each of you who were praying. Thank you! And, thank you from these parents and children as well.

Good Evening!

I just realized a couple days ago that I never posted an update of the backpacks for this coming school year. I know I have some readers on here that are not on social media & I wanted to make sure you all knew.

At the beginning on October I posted with a goal to raise money for 70 backpacks. This is my third year doing this campaign & it has been a blessing to so many children and their parents. YOU have been a blessing to them – each of YOU who has so generously given!

So… I am excited to tell you that in 18 days the Lord used you all to provide for 73 backpacks! Thank you & praise the Lord!

73 children who will go off to school with a new backpack full of school supplies! So many parents who have one less thing to buy before the new school year for their children.

May the Lord bless each of you. Thank you!

Backpacks for 2020

The last few years many of you have blessed around 80 children with backpacks full of supplies. This has been great blessing to the children & their parents in our ministries. Many of these children otherwise would not have had what they needed & we are grateful that God has used so many of you to help in this way.

The end of the year will be here before we know it. The school year starts here at the beginning of the calendar year. So, it is time to get things together again for this.

We know at least 70 children that are in need of a backpack & school supplies. $10 per a child will give them all of that. Would you be willing to donate $10 to help a child start out their new school year with backpack and needed school supplies?

This is also a great way for children, Sunday Schools and such to get involved as such a small amount can do so much! Pray about how you could save $10 & help one child this year!

120 Books

When I posted in May about wanting to get some books while I was in the states for the children I imagined coming home with 15-20 new books!

But God did above my expectations again & I came home with around 120 books.

A huge thank you to so many of you at Liberty Baptist Church that donated so many books & cash as well. Thank you to our friend Amy who purchased a bunch of new totally awesome Spanish books for the kids. And Beth-Ann Smith for sending money. Thank you all

I was able to get so many books on sale & dirt cheep at thrift stores & used book stores. Even new books are cheaper than what we pay here. The Lord was so good. It was a ton of fun to shop for these books & then to see the children so very excited about them! I wish those of you who gave could have seen the excitement – but here are some pictures of them soaked into their new books. They read books as often as we let them! Thank you for helping us in this way!

Last but not least – A HUGE thank you to my Aunt Paula who made personalized beautiful quilts for all of us. The kids were beyond words happy to get theirs! THANK YOU!

80 Backpacks

Thank you doesn’t feel adequate. It was amazing watching our old friends and so many new friends, that we have never met, come together to make this possible. Every time more money came in I felt so humbled & blessed watching you all love on these kids.

Together we paid for 80 backpacks full of school supplies & God’s Word.

80 children who will get to go to school the first of next month with new backpacks & all their needed school supplies.

I wish you all could have seen the hugs from the girls & fist bumps with the boys! I wish you could have seen the joy & surprise on all of their faces! The gratitude from the parents was more than the kids – so very thankful for this financial help. One less expense they have before their kids start a new school year. The families in our church asked us to thank you all for your love for them.
